#Fifteen days into the publishing jungle. Sixteen #queries submitted with two #rejections. Both form rejection emails. That’s two closer to an acceptance. For those of you that don’t know the process, here are the steps:

1. Submit πŸ™‚

2. Wait 😦

3. Either Β a rejection 😦 or a request for a partial manuscript. πŸ˜‰

4. Wait 😦

5. Either a rejection 😦 Β or a request of a full manuscript. πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚

6. Wait 😦

7. Either a rejection 😦 Β or an offer of representation. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’m a little behind and still need to submit 5 more queries this week before Saturday night. Plugging along. Right now searching for agents that want women’s fiction that do not request a synopsis.

Looking forward to the #WFWA Pitch workshop presented by #Kathryn Craft and #Laura Drake. Then I’ll be ready to tackle them all.

What are your recent experiences with querying agents? I’d love to hear from you. Β And while you are at it, tell me what you think of my new layout for my blog?

  1. I gave up after three tries. You have to be a salesperson, and I need training. I do plan to try again, but dread the experience. Not because of the rejections, but because of the hours it takes me to choose each agent/publisher, compose the letters, write a captivating synopsis that fits their criteria, and whatever else they require. It takes hours and hours, time I’d rather spend writing a new story.
